Over 100 years of experience in aviation financing

Dan graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge and qualified as an English lawyer with the law firm Allen & Overy LLP.  Dan worked in A&O’s aviation finance department advising airlines, lessors and financiers on a range of operating lease, debt, derivative, restructuring and merger transactions.

Subsequently, Dan worked with ILFC (now AerCap) where he handled the negotiation of commercial aircraft leases worldwide and managed a variety of repossessions and other contentious matters.

Ulf joined EMP in 2020 and is responsible for deal origination, trading and capital market products. He is Managing Partner of EMP’s trading platforms EMP Aviation Management GmbH and EMP Aviation Trading GmbH.

Prior to joining EMP, Ulf was Director of Knighthood Capital, Senior Vice President of Finance at Etihad and CFO of Airberlin. He started his career at Commerzbank and holds a business degree.

With a rotary-wing career spanning 36 years, Ali has held a variety of positions with major helicopter operators and maintenance organisations including Heli-One, British International Helicopters and CHC Helicopters, where he was most recently Fleet Manager in charge of a fleet of over 250 helicopters. Ali has vast experience in the maintenance, modifications, monitoring, airworthiness management, lease management and purchasing of a wide range of commercial helicopter types.

Trained extensively in Aerospace Studies, and Aeronautical Mechanics and Maintenance, Henderson currently holds a number of EASA licences and certificates including the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence EASA Part 66 B1.3 Type rated licence on several turbine helicopters types.

Gustavo is responsible for the development of new business and management of customer relationships for Lobo Leasing and LEVL leasing. He brings in 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, having worked for major OEMs in a diversified number of areas such as sales, marketing, management, customer service, finance, and engineering.

Previously, he was Regional Sales Manager for Bell Helicopter in Latin America, former Sales Director for Heli-One, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Safran Turbomeca and Black Belt at GE Aviation. Gustavo’s extensive experience and background brings a comprehensive understanding of the helicopter market and an ability to develop tailored solutions and a bespoke approach to leasing and fleet management.

Thomas joined EMP in 2018 and is responsible for financial modelling and investment structuring. Prior to EMP he gained diverse financing expertise having worked in private banking and M & A. Thomas studied business administration in St Gallen.

Sarah joined Lobo in August 2018 as Legal Counsel. With previous experience working as Legal Manager at Aercap, Sarah brings extensive leasing and company secretarial experience to her role.

Sarah qualified as a solicitor from the Law Society of Ireland in January 2013. She also holds a degree in Legal and Business Studies from Waterford Institute of Technology, and a diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance from the Law Society of Ireland.

Ciara joined Lobo in May 2021 and is responsible for the accounting function of Lobo leasing and LEVL leasing. She brings extensive aviation finance experience to her roles, having previously worked with AerCap for ten years.

Ciara trained as a Chartered Accountant, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the National College of Ireland, and has a diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance from the Law Society of Ireland.
